Wöhner presents innovative solutions at Light + Building 2022
Rödental / Frankfurt am Main, 27 September 2022 – At Light + Building from 2 to 6 October in Frankfurt am Main, Wöhner, a leading supplier in the field of energy distribution, control technology and renewable energies, will be presenting a portfolio of future-oriented products, solutions and services for building technology. Matching the motto of the leading trade fair, "Breaking New Ground", the company is once again focusing on innovation for intelligent energy management, as the subject of sustainability is playing an increasingly important role in buildings against the background of rising energy prices, legal requirements and climate protection.
Focus on intelligent building technology
The focus of Light + Building 2022 in the section building will be on the latest developments in intelligent applications and comprehensive networking, but above all on technologies for the climate-friendly use of buildings.
In this context, Wöhner will be presenting its innovations and pioneering solutions for intelligent energy management and efficient energy distribution. With important components in this segment, Wöhner is a decisive enabler for the energy transition in the building technology industry.
"Our focus at this year's trade fair is on our systematic approach as well as on innovations in the measurement technology with a special emphasis on innovative solutions for panel meters, current transformers and measurement amplifiers. We see ourselves in continuous competition for the best functionality and want to emphasise once again the possibilities our industry offers here – and what can be achieved with contemporary innovations in the building sector," Philipp Steinberger, CEO of Wöhner, explains.
Innovations in measurement technology and digitalisation
In addition to the proven and continuously developed basic systems, Wöhner will be showing selected highlights from the areas of measurement technology and digitalisation at Light + Building 2022. These include:
• CrossMT: The new electronic measurement technology adapter CrossMT represents the entry into digitalisation of the successful basic system CrossBoard. In combination with a wide range of applications, the CrossMT adds intelligent functions and connectivity for various components in the cabinet. The CrossMT measures current, voltage and temperature and derives additional quantities from these values such as power, energy, phase angle and frequency. It can then output this data over various communication interfaces (USB-C, digital inputs/outputs, IO-Link). Status LEDs on the top and bottom of the device provide users with a clear overview.
• New measurement and monitoring modules: The new modules for comprehensive monitoring of the control cabinet allow complete control of the corresponding system – from cost-optimised measurement at central points to analysis and visualisation to monitoring of the entire control cabinet. They can be installed both on the DIN mounting rail and directly in the control cabinet door. Following the fully integrated MOTUS C14 and OMUS C14 solutions as well as the CrossMT, the new products now round off Wöhner's range of measurement technology.
Basic systems with great future potential
Wöhner will also be presenting a selection of its proven basic systems at Light + Building. This includes, for example, 60Classic – a space-saving system with an enormous variety of components. Depending on requirements, busbars with different cross-sections can be used, allowing currents up to a maximum of 2500 A. Thanks to UL approval, the system is also suitable for international use and can also be used as a 4-pole system with the appropriate extension.
With the easy-to-install and modular 185Power system, safe low-voltage distributions can be realised quickly and easily – with efficient use of space and maximum compatibility of the components.
Tool-free assembly, combined with a high level of safety thanks to the integrated touch protection cover, makes the CrossBoard the ideal system solution for power distributions up to 160 A, especially for applications in mechanical and plant engineering.
Last but not least, Wöhner offers a comprehensive range of surface-mounted components for mounting on DIN rail or mounting plates for conventional wiring. The fuse technology and the associated connection technology meet the high quality requirements of international standards.
Sustainability firmly established in the corporate philosophy
Careful use of resources and energy efficiency are the focus of Light + Building 2022 – aspects that have always played a major role at Wöhner and are also reflected in the current product portfolio. What begins with the high vertical range of manufacture and the resource-saving busbar is continued in the targeted development of components that are elementary for a comprehensive energy transition. Increasingly intelligent products form the modular system that makes the transition possible in the first place.
Wöhner itself is already climate-neutral today and takes a variety of measures to reduce CO2. In addition to optimising energy requirements, the use of regenerative energies for the company's own consumption is constantly minimising the use of resources. Reduced use of plastics and the first bio-based materials from renewable plant raw materials also reduce the CO2 footprint. Wöhner's objective is to become climate-positive in the next few years and, additionally, to provide important impulses for climate-friendly energy supply at the social level in the control and efficient distribution of electrical energy.
Wöhner's booth at Light + Building 2022 is located in hall 11.0, booth number C46.
