Load switch series are produced at Wöhner’s subsidiary in Brazil – extensive accessories and expanded range of applications

Rödental, September 09, 2021 – Wöhner, a leading solution provider for power distribution equipment, control technology and renewable energies, has added two new switch series to its CAPUS Panel product range. With the CAPUS Panel S32 switch-disconnector and the CAPUS Panel BB32 changeover switch from the production of Wöhner’s subsidiary in Brazil, the company is now offering its customers two powerful, compact and fully equipped models.

The CAPUS Panel S32 switch-disconnector for the range from 160–3150 A is available in five different sizes and as 3-pole, 3+N-pole and 4-pole variants. It features not only impressive characteristics, but also comes with extensive accessories. In addition to the basic version with a graphite grey handle, this includes an emergency stop version with a red and yellow handle and door coupling rotary drives in graphite grey, as well as extension shafts and terminal compartment covers. The S32 switch is particularly suitable for applications with higher rated currents. The rated voltage is 690 V, the short-circuit withstand capacity current reaches up to 50 kA. And there is a conditional rated short-circuit current of up to 100 kA. A total of 26 versions with 31 accessory components are available. Two pilot switches can be used per device.      

More flexibility

The CAPUS Panel BB32 changeover switch, as a connection between two switch-disconnectors, features the same properties and design data as the CAPUS Panel S32 and offers users significantly more flexibility. This device comes in four different sizes. It can be used with or without connection rails. As with the S32, the rated voltage is also 690 V, the rated current ranges from 160–1600 A. The switch is available in 3 and 3+N-pole versions, and as with the S32, the short-circuit withstand capacity current ranges up to 50 kA and the conditional rated short-circuit current up to 100 kA. A total of 14 versions with 31 accessory components are available.

With approval according to EAC, IEC and CCC, the switches made in Brazil can be used worldwide. They have also impressed users in Germany through the extensive equipment as well as the compact housing and innovative, typical Wöhner design. 
 
Research in Brazilian centre of excellence

In Brazil, where the new addition to the Wöhner product range is manufactured, the company employees about 40 staff in the city of Boituva near São Paulo. This is not only where production takes place, but also research. The centre of excellence guarantees that Wöhner can always offer customers customised, individual and needs-oriented solutions.
