Wöhner CEO Philipp Steinberger becomes a member of the ZVEI Board of Directors

Rödental, June 6, 2023 – Philipp Steinberger, CEO of Wöhner, has been elected to the full board of the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI). As a provider of innovative solutions in the field of electrical engineering, Wöhner has played a decisive role in shaping the industry for over 90 years.

As one of Germany's most important industrial associations, the ZVEI represents the interests of the electrical and digital industry - and thus of a high-tech sector that, with a broad and extremely dynamic product portfolio, is increasingly gaining focus and setting the pace on the path to a CO2-neutral industrial society. The Central Association has a decisive function for Germany's innovation potential. With its focus on direct current technologies and intelligent power grids, the entire industry is making a decisive contribution to the energy transition and the future viability of the country - a goal that Wöhner has also taken up. "Direct current technology and intelligent, AI-supported power distribution are important keys to an even more efficient and secure power supply. To implement this, we need exchange and cooperation between all players from business and politics, science and society. I am very pleased to be able to contribute even more to this dialogue as a member of the ZVEI Board," says Philipp Steinberger.

The association sees itself as a motor of progress, promotes the exchange of experience and opinions between members on current technical, economic, legal and socio-political issues in the electrical industry and develops common positions. It has more than 1,100 member companies, which employ around 90 percent of the employees in the electrical and digital industry in Germany. ZVEI members include global players as well as medium-sized and family-owned companies. With its extensive range of services and products as well as subsidiaries in almost all parts of the world, Wöhner has been involved in the ZVEI since 1993.

His new position as a member of the ZVEI board offers Philipp Steinberger interesting opportunities to play an even greater role in shaping the development of the industry. "The ZVEI is the driving force, coordinator and think tank of the industry. Wöhner has been involved in the association's work for years and my new task shows how strongly we are networked in the industry. Wöhner is not only a global leader with its products and very well anchored as an employer in the Coburg region - but also closely connected with the politics and economy of this country."
