Rödental/Nuremberg, November 08, 2023 – At Smart Production Solutions (SPS), Wöhner, a leading supplier in the field of power distribution, control technology and renewable energies, will present future-oriented products and solutions for greater energy and resource efficiency in control cabinets. The trade fair for intelligent automation will take place in Nuremberg from the 14th to the 16th November 2023.

The focus of the SPS is on the entire spectrum of automation. This year's focus is primarily on the key topics of digitalization and sustainability, and thus products and solutions for resource-saving, climate-neutral production that support industry in decarbonising its processes and making production smarter and more digital.

In line with this, Wöhner will be presenting numerous products and solutions for intelligent energy distribution, the efficient control and automation technology of tomorrow as well as smart energy management. With important components in this segment, Wöhner is a crucial enabler for a digitally supported energy transition. The modular measurement technology offers an optimal way to collect, evaluate and control data in power distribution and enables the next step on the way to the intelligent power grid.

The highlights at the Wöhner booth include the new SECUR UltraLiner switch disconnector, the new EQUES adapter generation, the CrossMT measurement technology module and the MOTUS C14 electronic motor starter with soft start.

In addition, Wöhner is presenting the CrossBar, a concept study with which the CrossBoard can now be modularly expanded to 4- and 5-pole applications with maximum flexibility.

The new BROOME20 not only expands Wöhner's power supply portfolio. Together with a communication and 24V management concept, Wöhner is also taking the architecture in the control cabinet to the next level.

"Automation and digitalisation are not only important components for the careful use of resources and for high energy efficiency, they are also aspects that have always characterized our product portfolio," says Philipp Steinberger, CEO at Wöhner. "We have a wide range of new products and solutions that ensure greater energy and resource efficiency in the control cabinet. We look forward to explaining these to our customers, partners and interested parties in person and exchanging concepts and ideas."

The trade fair highlights at a glance:

SECUR UltraLiner closes gap in the CrossBoard portfolio: With the SECUR®UltraLiner, Wöhner is expanding its CrossBoard portfolio with a switch in accordance with UL98, thus paving the way for a wide application of the CrossBoard® basic system in the UL world.

With the new switch disconnector with fuses, both outlets with cylindrical fuses type 10x38, Class CC and D01/ D02 can now be fused and can also be switched under load. Variants with measurement technology enable the measurement of current, voltage and temperature.

EQUES 60Classic reduced to the essentials: With the new EQUES adapter series up to 32 A rated current, Wöhner has rethought the adapter standard for motor starter applications and reduced the interface for switchgear to the busbar system to the essentials.

The new cable assembly sets new standards in adapter technology with increased temperature resistance, halogen-free insulation material and overall improved short-circuit resistance.

The new DIN rail, which can be adjusted without tools, provides additional flexibility and speed when assembling the switchgear.

Soft start feature for the MOTUS C14: The electronic motor starter MOTUS C14 now has a special soft start feature. It includes the three-phase phase intersection of the input voltages to reduce the motor starting torque. The average voltage on the motor is reduced – and thus also causes a reduced starting current, so that the motor can be started smoothly below the nominal torque.

CrossMT for digitalisation in the control cabinet: The electronic measurement technology module CrossMT brings digitalisation to the basic CrossBoard system. In combination with a wide range of applications, it adds intelligent functions and connectivity wherever the corresponding control cabinet components do not yet have them. The CrossMT measures current, voltage and temperature, calculates derived quantities such as power, energy, phase angle and frequency and can forward the resulting data via various communication interfaces such as USB-C, IO-Link as well as digital inputs and outputs.

New modules for monitoring: Wöhner also offers new modules for control cabinet monitoring in its measurement technology portfolio. The new products are available for the DIN rail as well as for direct installation in the control cabinet door and, as a collection point for all data in the cabinet, provide a comprehensive overview. They collect, evaluate and pass on the analyses to the user – compact and tailor-made.

Concept highlights at SPS 2023

CrossBar as a universally applicable extension:
Tool-free installation and the high safety standard due to the integrated contact protection make the CrossBoard the optimal system solution for power distribution up to 160 A, especially for applications in control and automation technology.  With the CrossBar, the system can now be modularly expanded for four- or five-pole applications.

New 20 A power supply for a powerful 24 V distribution: BROOME20 with up to 20 A output current, a larger range of functions and a CrossBoard interface expands Wöhner's power supply portfolio. Together with a communication and 24 V management concept, Wöhner is consequently rethinking the architecture in the control cabinet.

Wöhner will be at SPS 2022 in Hall 9, Booth 350.
