Rödental/Hanover, 22th April 2024 – Under the motto " Energizing a Sustainable Industry", Hannover Messe, the world's leading event of its kind, will attract numerous visitors from the 22nd to the 26th of April. This year, the focus is on initiatives for a sustainable industry through electrification, digitisation and automation.

In hall 12 at booth C66, Wöhner will be showcasing solutions that make a concrete contribution to the success of the energy transition and an environmentally friendly energy supply through intelligent networking, standardisation and greater energy efficiency.

The central motto of Wöhner's trade fair appearance "Synergy. Four Systems. Four Global Standards." refers to four basic systems – CrossBoard, 60Classic, 185Power and Panel – which set standards both technically and in terms of sustainability and are continuously being developed further. One of Wöhner's trade fair highlights will be the upgrade of the CrossBoard from 160 A to 800 A.

The highlights at one glance

CrossBoard 800 A: The familiar system world has been extended to an impressive 800 A rated current and has been transformed into an energy management system. This covers almost the entire range of applications, from control and automation technology to large power distribution systems. The innovative hybrid busbar allows components to be mounted with the patented plug contact, but also larger outgoing circuits with the tried-and-tested terminal contact without additional adapters. The CrossBoard 800 A also increases material efficiency. Thanks to the innovative geometry of the current-carrying rails, the CrossBoard 800 A uses less copper and is therefore more sustainable.

185Power: With the growing share of renewable energies and changing legislation, the demands on distribution grids are increasing. With the expanded 185Power system world, Wöhner offers the ideal solution for a networked and digitalised infrastructure. In combination with our 333 mV current transformers and the MIEZ measurement technology modules, 185Power contributes to greater data transparency and therefore energy efficiency in the distribution grids.

QUADRON NH00 fuse switch-disconnector: The NH00 fuse switch-disconnector reinterprets classic NH technology. It impresses with improved technical ratings and an innovative design. In addition to a short-circuit resistance of 120 kA with a utilisation category of AC-23B, it is even more practical to use thanks to the quick and tool-free change of the outgoing side, the optimised handle and a wider access opening.

SECUR UltraLiner: With its small width of just 22.5 millimetres, Wöhner offers a new solution for safe switching in the smallest of installation spaces. The switch-disconnector secures outgoing circuits with cylindrical fuses in both the 10x38, Class CC, and D01/D02 designs. Thus, Wöhner expands its CrossBoard portfolio with the first fuse switch according to UL98 and paves the way for a broad application of the basic system in the UL world.

CAPUS DC: The safe switching of direct current, as it is preferably used in renewable energies, places high demands on the corresponding components. Specially developed for PV applications, the new CAPUS can safely switch direct current up to 500 A at 1500 V in a compact design. A short-circuit resistance of 40 kA also makes it suitable for use in industrial environments.

Further exhibition focal points

Wöhner also presents the new CRITO front and rear feed-in modules for the new system world of CrossBoard, the MOTUS C14 as a soft starter for reducing the starting torque when starting electric motors, as well as the CrossMT measurement technology module for digitalising power distribution. Feature upgrades expand the functional scope of the products and allow them to be customised for specific areas of application. The MIEZ series ensures the monitoring of central switch cabinet parameters. In combination with the load switching strips of the 185Power system and the directly integrated current transformers with pre-assembled pluggable interface, Wöhner offers a customised solution for smart grids and the implementation of the energy transition.

Targeting the "All Electric Society" with the ZVEI

The German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI) is driving the transition towards an "All Electric Society" (AES) based on renewable energy. In the "All Electric Society Arena" in hall 11, booth C53, the association and its members will be showcasing best practices on the way to a climate-neutral industrial society. As an important partner, Wöhner will be giving a keynote speech on Wednesday, 24th of April, on the topic of "All electric standardization for an all electric society", providing an insight into the energy distribution of the future.

As in the previous year, Wöhner will also be a stop on the Guided Tour at Hannover Messe on the topic of "All Electric Society". The focus here is on technologies that make a positive contribution to the energy transition and to achieving climate targets. The stop at the Wöhner booth once again emphasises the importance of the company for an efficient and sustainable energy supply. Further information on the Guided Tours can be found here.

"The Hannover Messe is always a highlight and the place to present our visions for a sustainable energy supply to an international audience. This year, we are once again demonstrating Wöhner's innovative strength: with the expansion of our CrossBoard from 160 to 800 ampere, we are taking the next step from a pure power distribution system to an energy management system – and thus defining the next industry standard after the 60 mm busbar system. With our products, but also in intensive dialogue with other exhibitors, our partners and the public, we want to make a contribution to solving current challenges," Philipp Steinberger, CEO at Wöhner, explains.
